The Metal Scholar's Weekly Listening List (28th January 2020) - 200 Songs & Counting!

Another Grey & Rainy Day The weather has closed in recently with eerily thick fog and thunderous rain. Rather reflecting my mood the last couple of weeks also. Trying to find some semblance of solace in a troubled and over working and has been quite difficult that is for sure. Whilst I attempt to dig myself out of this gaping and deep hole that I've gotten myself into, I'll always do it with a soundtrack! I've heard all sorts of interesting songs this week, some that I did not expect to like so much, which is always refreshing. Also, I know the last two weeks this has been posted on a Tuesday, I was thinking of moving it to a Tuesday as I often feel burnt out on Monday's after working at the weekends! Hopefully this isn't too much of an inconvenience for anyone but if it means I can kickstart my blogging love again I'll make some changes! Anyway, on with this weeks lists! Singles Of The Week I. The Metal Scholar's Weekly Listening List (21st January 2020)

"What's Going On? I Need My Weekly Tunes!" Yes, I've had a tumultuous couple of unorganised and chaotic weeks that has put all blog writing out of alignment! A few setbacks recently has voided me of a lot of motivation for a number of things but I will cover them in another post, however a complete week off has done me good and I can continue to crack on with growing this blog once again. As for January, it has been pretty quiet on the new releases and in general in the metal world. Not much going on, which is to be expected in easily the most depressing month of the year, that has already lasted 10,000 days! Anyway, lets get back to business and give all you wonderful people some epic tunes to listen to while the frost and fog settles over the UK! The fog and frost has awaked my inner haunted Victorian character into life and has made me listen to all sorts of spooky and unnerving stories, as well as watching the final series of Vikings it has been a real mixe

The First Of The New Decade! Yes, now the haze of Christmas and New Year is over it is time to get back down to business. I'm looking forward to what quality albums 2020 will bring me and the rest of the decade for that matter. The 2010s were packed full of epic albums, so the bar can only be raised higher once again. My expectations are understandably high for 2020, so it will be interesting to see what bands can pull it out of the bag. In the meantime, the listening of rotations must be done and new albums can be added as and when they come, we just have to be patient! So fo now, I present to you the first Weekly Listening of 2020! Of course the playlist will be updated also, this means you can reflect on some of the awesome songs chosen in 2019 while listening to the new additions of 2020! Singles Of The Week I. Wormwitch (🇨🇦) - Disciple Of The Serpent Star (Prosthetic Records), Black Metal II. Death Wolf (🇸🇪) - Edge Of The Forest (Blooddawn Productions), Horror

The Miscellaneous Goings On Of Tom - 2020, And So It Begins...

*Insert Picture Of King Theoden At Helm's Deep Here* "And So It Begins... After a short-ish break, I'm back! 2020 is set to be a big year for me and all things in the music world. The start of a new decade filled with new opportunities and sounds to be created and discovered. It is strange to think of the infinite possibilities that a new decade brings to human arts and creative thinking. For me, I know there is going to be a lot of new challenges that I have not encountered before, that will test me and push me right of my comfort zone. Whilst naturally anxious, I cannot wait to have a crack at them and do the best I can to start my journey down another path. Honestly, I'm filled with optimism, the last decade was a tough one, coming of age under some difficult circumstances and situations has made me the person I am today and now that person is ready to fight tooth and nail for every inch of what I put my mind to over the next 10 years. It's exciting times
